Advanced Technique
Instructor: Sarah Beth Byrum

This class is designed for the serious dancer only. The class will focus on necessary elements for a dancer to succeed in today's industry. Leaps, jumps, turns, extensions and more will be emphasized. This is a required class for team dancers, but open to all dancers who would like to increase their technicality.

Ballet I
Instructor: Sarah Beth Byrum/Marie Pederson

This introduction to Ballet technique will emphasize basic terminology and classical technique. Ballet I will include barre and center work with a focus on alignment and basic body positions. This class is recommended for ages 8-10 years or older students with no prior dance experience.

Ballet II
Instructor: Sarah Beth Byrum/Marie Pederson

This class will build on the foundations of Ballet I by continuing work on alignment and positioning. Dancers will also be introduced to increasing challenges as the year progresses, including petit and grand allegro, pirouettes, and adagio work. This class is recommended for ages 11 years and older or younger students with a minimum of two years of ballet training.

Ballet/Lyrical III
Instructor: Sarah Beth Byrum

This class is designed for the serious ballet student who has completed sufficient training to integrate their technique in to not only barre and centre work, but complex choreography as well. Ballet III is coupled with Lyrical Jazz styles and dancers are expected to be versatile in their work in the class. This class is recommended for teen dancers with a minimum of four years of ballet training.

Ballroom I
Instructor: Kyle Sorenson

An introduction to basic ballroom styles. Foundational movements will be taught in classic ballroom dances such as the waltz, tango, fox trot and more. This class is recommended for teen dancers with little to no prior dance experience. Dancers who have taken one year of Ballroom I are encouraged to repeat this class. Advancement in to Ballroom II is by teacher permission only.

Ballroom II

This class will continue to work on classic ballroom and latin dances at a more advanced level. More advanced sequencing and partnering will be required and placement in Ballroom II is by teacher permission only. This class is recommended for teen dancers with a minimum of two years of ballroom training.

Bee Boppin'
Instructor: Staff

This thirty minute class will work on basic positioning in jazz and ballet and serve as an introduction to dance for little dancers. Bee Boppin' includes creative movement exercises to increase body awareness and musicality and is designed for a young dancer's first independent class experience. Dancers should be potty-trained, or able to wear training pants for the duration of the class. This class is offered in eight week sessions throughout the year. This class is recommended for ages 2-3 years.

Boys Hip Hop I

This is a boys only class. This is an introduction to Hip Hop style for boys only and is taught with a masculine movement style. This class is recommended for ages 8-11 years.

Boys Hip Hop II

This is a boys only class. This is a more advanced class to build on the foundations set in the Boys Hip Hop I. This is a class with a hip hop style for boys only and is taught with a masculine movement style. This class is recommended for middle to high school aged boys.

Dance Sampler I

The dance sampler classes explore the basics of three different idioms - ballet, tap, and jazz. Students are taught beginning level steps in all three styles, as well as choreographed dances. A strong emphasis is placed on terminology, a fundamental understanding of music and its relationship to movement, and alignment and positioning. The goal of the dance sampler classes is to create a solid foundation in dance for young dancers to build on as they continue their study. This class is recommended for ages 3-5 years.

Dance Sampler II

FORCE Team

The FORCE team is our highest level of team placement. Team members on FORCE should be prepared to not only dance at an advanced level, but also make dance their first priority in all aspects of their life. Dancers are expected to be motivated and dedicated to their dance study both on and off the dance floor by being exemplary models of dance training. Dancers must be confident in dance styles of jazz, hip hop, ballet, and contemporary. A minimum of three hours of training per week is required, with four or more hours of training highly recommended.

Hip Hop I
Instructor: Staff

This class will have students showing off on the dance floor in no time with basic pops, syncopations, and isolation work. Emphasis will be put on performance skills and dance technique while giving dancers the opportunity to improvise as well. This class is recommended for ages 8-10 years or older students with no prior dance experience.

Hip Hop II
Instructor: Marie Pederson

This class will expand on the basic hip hop styles taught in the level one class while incorporating more difficult sequencing and rhythm work. This class is recommended for ages 11 years and up or younger students with a minimum of two years of dance experience.

Hip Hop III
Instructor: Sarah Foster

Hip Hop III is designed for experienced dancers who have mastered intermediate level steps and are ready to integrate their training in to more advanced choreography and sequencing. This class is recommended for teen dancers with a minimum of four years of dance experience.

Hip Hoppin'
Instructor: Marie Pederson/Sarah Foster

This is a basic introduction to the fun and energetic style of hip hop for our youngest dancers. We will keep them moving! This class is for ages 5-7 years.

Jazz I
Instructor: Lisa Buys/Marie Pederson

Beginning Jazz students will be expected to understand basic sequencing, weight change, and beginning level turns. This class is recommended for ages 8-10 years, or older students with no prior dance experience.

Jazz II
Instructor: Marie Pederson

Continuing jazz dancers will increase their movement vocabulary to include jumps, turns, extensions and more. This class is recommended for middle to high school dancers , or younger students with a minimum of two years of jazz training.

Jazz III
Instructor: Marie Pederson

Jazz III dancers will achieve a higher level of jazz skills including advanced jumps and multiple turns. Extensions, flexibility, alignment, and balance will be emphasized in all aspects of the class. This class is recommended for teen dancers with a minimum of four years of experience.

Modern III
Instructor: Sarah Beth Byrum

This class is recommended for dancers with prior dance training who would like to encompass Modern dance in to the repertory. A minimum of two years of dance study is recommended before taking this class.

Musical Theatre
Instructor: Marie Pederson

This class is designed for the dancer who wants to expand their knowledge to include training in the area of Broadway style dance. The class will focus on the type of movement and performance skills needed for stage. Music selections will be from well known musicals and give students the opportunity to experience the "triple threat" of singing, dancing, and acting. Focus will be on the dance component of Broadway styles.

Pointe
Instructor: Sarah Beth Byrum

Dancers must be a minimum of twelve years of age and audition for placement on pointe. Dancers on pointe must also be taking a minimum of two hours of week of training outside of their pointe class, as well as be currently enrolled in the Ballet III class.

PULSE
Instructor: Sarah Beth Byrum/Marie Pederson

This team class is by audition or invitation only. Our Pulse team is an introduction to the dance team experience for young dancers ages 8 and older. This team is designed for dancers to add to their dance training by increasing their performances throughout the year and dancing at a higher level of dedication and focus. This team will not travel or perform as extensively as the other teams, but is the perfect placement for dancers who are at the beginning levels of their team experience.

Swing I
Instructor: Sarah Beth Byrum

Class will include the basics of swing dance including the basic footwork, turns, dips and simple tricks. Students will learn the fine art of partnering and be able to distinguish between performance and social swing dance. This class is recommended for teen dancers with less than two years swing experience.

Swing II
Instructor: Sarah Beth Byrum

Continuing swing dance students will learn more advanced partnering work, footwork, and tricks. This class will build upon the foundation of the basics of swing to add more complex movements. Students should master all beginning level steps before moving on. Many students take more than one year of Swing I and if dancers are not sure of their placement level, they should consult the instructor. This class is recommended for dancers with a minimum of two years of swing dance training.

Tap I
Instructor: Staff

This class is a basic introduction to tap dance. Basic sequencing, rhythms, and syncopations will be taught at the beginning level. This class is recommended for ages 8-10 years, or older dancers with no prior tap dance experience.

Tap II
Instructor: Marie Pederson

This class will increase upon the foundation set in Tap I by expanding the tap vocabulary to include more complicated patterning, riffs, and traveling sequences. This class is recommended for ages 11 years or older, or younger students with a minimum of two years of tap training.

Tap III
Instructor: Marie Pederson

This class is for more advanced tappers who are confident in their mastery of beginning and intermediate level tap steps. Complicated sequencing and patterns will be integrated as well as allowing tappers the opportunity to work on improvisation. This class is recommended for teen dancers with a minimum of four years tap experience.

VIBE Team
Instructor: Sarah Beth Byrum

Our VIBE team is for continuing team members who are experienced dancers with multiple years of dance training. VIBE members should be well rounded in their study and confident in multiple areas of dance, including jazz, hip hop, ballet and contemporary. VIBE members should be prepared to make dance their first priority in scheduling and commitment and will perform extensively as well as competing during the year. A minimum of two hours of training per week is required, with three or more hours of training per week highly recommended.
