April Showers Recitals are blooming soon!
Our annual April Showers Recital will be held on Saturday, April 11th at the Wildish Community Theatre. If you have any questions, we hope we can answer them here. If we didn't get your question answered, please call the office at 541-688-1523 or text to 541-449-9975.
When should my child arrive and where should they go?
Dancers should arrive 10-15 minutes before their designated performance time and check in at the backstage door on the north side of the theatre. There is an alleyway that goes between the back of the building and the parking garage which is where the stage door entrance is located. Dancers will need to line up at the stage door to be checked in. Please have dancers in costume with their dance shoes on and ready to perform. Please take all of their belongings with you - no personal items should enter the backstage area.
As soon as your dancers is checked in, they will be put with their class and teacher. The dancers will wait with their class while parents are seated in the theatre. After your dancer is checked in, please walk around the building to the front side Main Street entrance to be seated for the show. Dancers will then perform for their parents on stage and be dismissed directly to you from the stage to exit.
Shows are every 30-45 minutes throughout the day. If your dancer is in more than one class, they will have more than one show. If they are in back to back shows, they can remain in the theatre and do not have to exit to be checked in again.
Get set for success!
We want your child to be their most confident self on stage! Here are three tips to make sure your chid is ready to shine on stage.
Stage Make Up & Hair
For our April Showers event, all female dancers should have their hair in an ATD bun (center part, low bun). All male dancers should have hair neatly styled away from their face.
Stage make-up is an important part of dance performance and will be required for our end of season recital. This is a good time to practice stage make-up with your dancer, but it is not required for this event. Younger dancers can do less make-up, a little bit of blush, eyeshadow and lip color is plenty for our female First Steps dancers. These should all be in neutral colors of browns and pinks.
Click the button below for a tutorial video on stage make-up for dance. You do not need to use the specific make-up or colors they reference. Any brown or pink colors are fine and cheap make-up is absolutely fine for stage use. Again this is a REQUIRED LOOK for the end of season concert.
We can’t wait!
April Showers is such a great chance to explore the stage environment and get ready for our big show in June. We can’t wait to celebrate their dance journey and watch them shine!
