Dance Company is a thriving dance studio in Eugene, Oregon who works with hundreds of young dancers from 12 months to 18 years. We are searching for candidates who have experience working with children and a passion for music and movement.

Current open positions

Teaching Assistant

You will be directly assisting our lead teacher in our First Steps programs, working with students from ages 2-7 years. You will be running kids to the bathroom, tying shoes, talking about favorite stuffed animals, giving hugs, telling jokes, and of course dancing! No formal dance training is required, but you must be willing to get down on the ground, twirl, spin, jump and boogie! The ability to leave your troubles at the door and smile and play is a must.

This is a part time position with options available anywhere from 5 to 25 hours per week. There are opportunities for the right candidate to train into a lead teacher position as well.

Must be able to pass a background check and drug test. Rate of pay $ 16-18/hour


Lead Teacher

We are seeking instructors capable of leading a classroom and providing quality dance instruction. Our programming includes ballet, ballroom, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, musical theatre, tap and acrobatics. We are looking for teachers who can teach any or all of these styles.

You will be directly in charge of a classroom and are responsible for

  • Following curriculum plan to maintain student progress

  • Creating weekly lesson plans to support individual and group needs

  • Maintaining a studio environment of support and positivity

  • Creating and setting innovative and age appropriate choreography for annual concerts

  • Working collaboratively with studio faculty including attendance at monthly faculty meetings

  • Communicating with studio leadership

  • Supporting studio goals of student acquisition and retention

Prior dance teaching experience preferred. Experience working with children is required. Rate of pay - $20-25/hour commiserate with experience. Higher wage rates available for dance teachers with more extensive experience.


Director of First Steps

We are looking for a Director of our First Steps Program. This person would be in charge of overseeing curriculum and teachers for our youngest dancers, ages 12 months to 7 years. We need someone creative, outgoing, and with extensive dance teaching experience for this youngest age group.

We are seeking department leads who will elevate our studio programming to the next level. Department leads will be in charge of overseeing department curriculum, instructors, and daily class management. We are ready to work with people who want to take their career in dance to the next level.

You will be directly in charge of a classroom and are responsible for

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience required for lead teachers, additional experience and education required for director positions.

Rate of pay negotiable based on experience. Our Director of First Steps Program will be a full time salaried position with health benefits.
